This is a connection node from the structural steel frame of the Hamilton Wing of the Denver Art Museum. The building was finished and opened to the public in 2006. I've included a picture of the actual piece during construction.
I had the pleasure of working for the steel fabricator on this project and i still have the computer model that represents all of the structural steel framing. The program it is in is called Tekla (at the time it was XSteel). Using Tekla, I was able to isolate this node and then export a file that could be converted to stl. Unfortunately the bolts did not export, but all of the connection material is included. Some of the plate edges are beveled for the complete penetration welds. This results in some particularly fragile areas of the model as the plates don't fully touch.
Due to the complex nature of the model it requires some elaborate support. I've included a picture of the model before I removed the support.
