Starship Weapon Turrets

Hi All This file contains the turrets I have designed for the Destroyer I am currently building. Feel free to use, alter, redesign etc for your own use and don’t worry crediting me. For the technonuts out there, the first big turret is the Blum & Voss M-203 Twin particle cannon turret used for ship to ship combat and surface bombardment of planets. The other 2 are the Hughes SWSS (Small Weapon Station System) Stations. The First is the Mk 2 with twin 3 barrelled Gatling drivers. Each set of barrels acts as a mini mass driver propelling projectiles down each barrel. With each driver spinning at full speed a single turret call put out 25,000 tungsten balls a minute. With no need for a propellant charge the guns magazine can hold 1.275.000 rounds The other SWSS is the Mk 7 equipped with a micro missile launcher with combined infra-red/microwave tracking. Once an incoming enemy craft is identified the turret tracks and fires 2 or more missiles at it unless a “no go” command is received. The missile is magnetically launched in the general direction of the target. Scanning with passive radar the missile approaches the target unpowered until the optimum interception angle is reached. At this point the missile uses a small onboard supply of compressed gas to vector towards the target and ignites its solid fuel drive motor. Range in powered flight is about 500km. Each turret and base is self contained and holds 92 missiles. #Andywerk #Starship #Turrets #Weapon
