The M.A.R.X. (Military Advanced Rifle eXperiment) series of firearms is a set of sniper rifles issued by the Forces' in-house armoury, Starmaster Weapons Division. This model (the 12th iteration of the series) features a 100x scope, and, more importantly, a magnetic accelerator (MA) capability allowing it to accurately hit targets up to five kilometres away. The bullets are bigger than most at 12x48.1mm (meaning this rifle is normally used for anti-materiel, rather than anti-personnel work), travel at Mach 1.2, and each magazine accomodates five bullets. Another important new feature of this rifle is Targeting Assistance Data Acquisition (T.A.D.A.), allowing the scope to identify anything falling within the scope that is listed in the small computer cartridge just in front of the magazine mount.
