I was searching for a solution to decouple my 3D-printer from my desk to minimize vibration and noise. My first idea was some kind of gel damper but unfotunately it is quite hard to find something not to expensive for that. Then I stumbled across the squashball damper idea and it turned out to work quite good! Sticked to the desk with adhesive pads, the rings I designed give the balls enough support and keep them from rolling.
