Hi,
This is spool insert that i made for guiding the spool better. espacially on the spool holder that i use to reduce the friction (and with that the hopping) of the spool while printing.
It happend, when i used this spool holder that you see in the pictures, that the eryone spool was wandering left and right and also started to tilt a little. So i created this insert as a guide for spools with carvings at the side. (i am sorry to say that i cant find the creator of it anymore, so if you find this spool holder let me know).
You can print this without infill but i would not recommend it. It worked for me but the print did not come out "pretty". I had some gaps inbetween top layers and the wall and some sacking of top layers.
I don't know what comanies als make spools like this but then you may need to figure out if the deminsions of this insert work for you. Otherwise give me the mesurements and may creat anotherone for other brands of fiament.
The mesurements of this spool insert are around 83.7mm outer diameter and 53.9mm inner diameter. The insert is 12mm wide.
If this is very close to what you need you can simply adjust the Horizontal Expansion and the Hole Horizontal Expansion in Cura Slicer for the diameters.
I hope this will help some of you.
Good luck printing!
