Last crawled date: 4 years, 7 months ago
This split flap display shows the weather in one hour.
Here is a video of the fully functional weather display: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLFjflW2zS0
The code is made to tell the weather in Copenhagen Denmark, but it can of course easily be altered.
Except from some relatively standard Arduino components, the split flap display is mainly made from laser cut plywood.
The weather-display is made from:
1x Arduino
2x Steppermotors
2x Photointerrupters (GP1A51HRJ00F)
1x WiFi module (esp8366)
1x 12v power supply
3x plywood 600mm x 450mm x 3 mm
1x 3 mm acrylic 15mm x 15mm x 3mm
4x bearings for roller skates or skateboard (outer diameter 20mm, inner hole 20mm, high 7mm)
72x Steel rods 2mm
72x A4 paper
The split flap display is build as a part of the course: Mechatronics Engineering Design at DTU - Technical University of Denmark.
