Presented here is a 1974 Soap Box Derby Champion racer, designed, constructed and driven by Edward L. Myers of Conshohocken, Pennsylvania. Eddie's checker flag victory in his hometown qualified him to advance a month later to the All-American Championship in Akron, Ohio, where he snapped up third overall from a field of 99 entries. The curvilinear body, constructed out of fiberglass over a teardrop plan, is widely regarded as one of the finest designs that has ever appeared at the All-American. Built for the layback driver it had a tapered headrest fairing that enclosed the occupant's helmet. The gold-painted axletrees were fashioned from oak, the cockpit fully enclosed by a soft tonneau cover. This model is created from color photographs showing views of the car from multiple angles. The car is equipped with the official All-American Soap Box Derby Championship wheels, painted gold for 1974. Body livery shows the driver's hometown and car number.
