This is a little project, to add the remote focus capability to the stock focuser.
Mine is a 80mm Skywatcher refractor.
I printed in PLA at 0.2mm layers and slic3r with 20% infill.
It is attached over the metal existing bracket but with longer screws.
The nice thing about this is that it can function without a motor or gears from part 2 and 3.
It can always be left on its own and only attached the other parts when needed.
The stepper will be a standard Nema-17 with 200 turns per revolution.
No support needed. Tested like in the pictures.
Next up are the Gears, which have a sum of pitch diameters of 68mm which translate to a distance of 34 mm between the two axes.
Stay tuned :)
Update1: Gears (8 and 26 teeth) are done, next up the motor :) already tested it, in manual mode: works great :Dhttp://geargenerator.com/#100,100,100,2,1,0,0,2,1,8,1,8,20,-90,0,0,26,3.25,8,20,-45,0,0,2,425
Update2: Modified the big gear to include a stronger joint.
