Update: I just made a hollow, threaded Easter Egg for hiding prizes, and you can download it here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4812640
I couldn't find a solid, high-resolution Easter Egg on Thingiverse, so I made one!
Please forgive the terrible egg painting skills. Next time I'll use a smaller, stiffer-bristled brush or a paint marker.
The whole egg measures 60.8mm (or 2.39") tall and approximately 42.4mm (or 1.67") wide, which is about the same size as those plastic shell easter eggs.
I made three options for your preferred method of printing:
"EasterEgg2PiecesNoSupports" prints in two halves with a cube to hold them together. When connected, this becomes a complete egg and can be printing without supports. Pick this if you want a fully-rounded bottom (will not stand on its own) and don't want to use supports. This is not hollow, so you can't stick candy in it. Sorry! I'm working on a hollow version that can be opened. I'll upload it here when finished.
"EasterEggStandingNoSupports" is a one-piece design with a flat bottom, so the egg can sit upright. No supports are required. Since this has a flat bottom, it's slightly shorter at 59mm (or 2.32") high.
"EasterEggWholeEggSupportsRequired" is a one-piece design with a rounded bottom, so it will not stand upright. This one very much requires supports.
I am also including the original Sketchup files. Feel free to remix this with surface skins and whatever you can dream up!
These also work great as faux chicken eggs for chicken coops. Place them where you want your chickens to lay eggs and it will help them get accustomed to the spot.
Happy Easter!
