This is a very simple landing gear for multi-rotor aircraft that was inspired by the Simple Delrin Landing Gear available from FliteTest.com (http://store.flitetest.com/simple-delrin-landing-gear/).
I built a hex-copter using their electro-hub system that included landing gear that are meant to shear through the zip-ties that hold the landing gear to the motor spars, dissipating energy from a hard landing to, hopefully, avoid more serious component damage.
I used the FliteTest landing gear until I upgraded my hex to include a 2-axis gimbal system, mounted under the frame. This landing gear model was inspired by the Flitetest landing gear, only made larger so the gimbal would not drag on the ground. It still requires two zip-ties to connect it to the motor spars.
