For people with flat feet, otherwise known as plantar fasciitis. My feet feel so much better after rolling for about a minute each, and my physiotherapist and massage therapist agree that over time, my feet feel much more flexible since I've started using it. I've been using mine once a day for over a year.
Plantar fasciitis is a condition where the ligament in your arch, the plantar fascia, is stretched and experiences small tears around your heel. It rotates the leg inward, causing further strain on your knees, hips, back, shoulders, and neck. As of yet this is no cure for flat feet, but there are ways to reduce the symptoms of pain. There is no replacement for proper insoles with arch support and fitted shoes, so talk to your doctor or podiatrist.
There are two other great projects on Thingiverse, listed in the Remix section, but I found I preferred a flat cylindrical shape. You can mix it up depending on what your feet prefer, but I like this simple design since I use it so often.
The design of this thing is as simple as they come, a hollow cylinder. It illustrates the power of 3D printing, where a very simple object can vastly improve a person's quality of life.
