This is the commander deckbox I've wanted for years! It didn't exist, so I set out to make it myself when I got a 3D printer. I've always kept my commander in a toploader, and it just made sense to me to use that as the "lid" in a box, doubling as a display case!
These are not designed to be "tough" cases - they are likely to dump your cards if you toss them around or leave them loose in a backpack! I just wanted a reasonable assurance of keeping everything in one place while looking nice on the shelf. I'm not responsible for lost or damaged cards, please be careful and use common sense!
I'm still iterating on the design, attempting to account for the variance in size of standard toploaders, reinforce the structural weakness of the groove, and keep material use and print time to a minimum. Any feedback or input on how to accomplish these goals would be appreciated!
Two versions are uploaded:
the newest all in one version, which prints on its back and needs supports for the toploader slot.
an older 2 piece version that prints upright without supports, then the top cap is glued in place. This version is easier to print, but lacks some of the improvements of the newest version - it uses more material and the slot isn't as deep.
