Removing the nub is to fix the issue of the nub grinding inside the receiver channel. Once damage is done it cannot be undone. Last ditch effort is to remove the nub and install this guide rail.
This guide rail is to be installed after removing the bolt head nub. This fixes grinding that will be caused by the bolt handle contacting the top of the receiver channel.
