I like listening to podcasts and music in the shower. However, there's not a great spot to sit a phone around my shower. So, I needed a way to hang it on the shower door. But, I wanted it on the outside, not the inside. I've heard water and phones don't mix well. :-)
So this is my answer. In my case, I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 with a case, and the speaker is on the bottom. So, I can now start my music/podcast, place it in the holder (upside down) and get a decent amount of sound into the shower.
A few notes:
There are three pieces you need: the holder, one of the brackets, and then the tensioner.
The smaller bracket is about 18mm wide. If you have something wider, I made the "Large" one that gives you about 47mm of width.
The tensioner works for my phone. My phone, sliding up and down in the holder, moved about 15mm. So the tensioner is a 20mm height to provide...tension. Feel free to change the height in your slicer if you need more or less, but don't change the width as it fits correctly in the bottom of the holder.
The tensioner just sits loosely in the bottom of the holder. Don't glue it, as it won't work properly then.
I'm sure there are phones that won't fit (as I said, I have an S6.) The rough dimensions for the space are: about 12mm deep, 77mm wide and about 150mm tall. (The space is taller, hence the tensioner, but to get a phone in there, the max is about 150mm.)
The holder and the bracket slide together; yes, they are VERY tight, and I did that on purpose. In fact, I had to use a little tack hammer to tap them together. But, I also didn't want to glue them (as I was still experimenting with the bracket) and I didn't want it to slide apart.
