The newest revision to an ongoing project

Designed with 1/8" steel and 1/4" wood veneer, to be finished to match bedroom furniture. Designed to be easy to produce, just some basic sheet metal bends and cuts, a little welding, and a little wood work.

This design differs from my others in that it mounts broad-side to the wall. It is opened by a solonoid (with hidden switch) that retracts a pin and spring loaded doors swing open in an emergency, so no fumbling for keys or trying to punch in a combo in the dark.

Total weight is 49 pounds empty (steel) and 29 pounds for aluminum.

This design offers added storage space for things like flashlights, extra ammo, etc, while still maintaining a slim profile to the wall (4" with 1/4" wood veneer)

Added padlock tabs for extra security for extended periods away from home, etc.
