Shingle-Style Temple Front Houses

This is a model based on four houses that once stood at 1637-1643 Denham Street in the North Fairmount neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio. Constructed around 1900, the four houses were initially identical. The houses remained in use for well over a century, but the decline of the area that began in the mid-20th Century led to the devaluation and demolition of all but one of these houses in the 2010s. Today, the block they stood on only has one house left, 1639 Denham, which had about a dozen closely-packed and occupied neighboring houses only a ten ago. It is unknown what plans are for the site, but many of the demolished homes had no outward signs of structural issues, and were affordable housing for low-income families in the area, which has been targeted by property speculators and anti-blight programs. Feel free to use this model as you see fit, on the condition that you contact me first so I know where it is being used (I'd love to see it wherever it ends up), and give me a mention or credit wherever it is used or published. #Cincinnati #ShingleStyle #HistoricArchitecture #VanishedAmerica
