I got 3D scanned on our insane custom rig at work (Objex Unlimited) and 3D printed in full colour on a 3DSystems ProJet 660!

I've uploaded the scan in three different formats: AMF, PLY, and WRL
All three have the colour texture embedded, but support for reading it will vary depending on the software that you use. This software can definitely load it up correctly:
