I really like using an ATX power supply for the 3Dprinters I build. Even though they come in a variety of wattages and supply abundant 12-volt happiness, they have a bunch of other wiring harnesses attached. You COULD snip or unsolder the unnecessary wiring, but opening the case will certainly invalidate your warranty, and maybe some day you will wish you hadn't. You could just zip-tie the wires out of the way, but that looks rather unpolished (and poses other mechanical/electrical hazards).
This free-standing shroud tidies up your wiring, allows you to keep your PSU intact, and preserves your warranty. The shroud is designed to hold the PSU captive from opposite corners and not block the ventilation. The PSU is oriented vertically to minimize the footprint. There is a hole in the cavity to run a 12V power cable to the printer through a grommet.
The PSU I used has some nifty sheathing on the various harnesses, which adds some bulk to the wiring, but it all fits nicely in the arched cavity. I folded and zip-tied each harness separately, which allowed me to arrange the wires a little easier. I made an assumption about the position of the cooling fan on my PSU, which looks silly, but I have enlarged the cut-out to accommodate some variation in ventilation design.
