Process operators work in many industries, and in plants that produce electricity, commodity gases (natural gas, propane, butane), gasoline, diesel fuel, industrial chemicals, plastics, ultra pure water, pharmaceuticals, and other such products. To help protect the workers in these industries, The Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 was passed, together with the creation of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), whose Standard 1910.120 App B details the levels of protective gear (PPE) required for the Process Operator. Part A of the standard specifies the four levels A, B, C, and D of protective equipment based on the degree of protection afforded (level A being the highest level of protection and level D being the lowest). This model represents a Process operator wearing the basic lowest Level D protection - A work coverall, safety hard hat, safety glasses, leather gloves and steel-toed safety boots affording minimal protection used for nuisance contamination only. The modified uniform and figure are originally from the internet, the modified hardhat suspension originally by Anonymous, and the modified gloves and head model courtesy of Max Grueter. #boots #chemical #coverall #glasses #gloves #helmet #operator #refinery #Safety
