The Royal Game of Ur, based on the ancient board game on display at the British museum.
There are other versions of this on thingiverse, but I wanted to try and recreate the colored inlay found in the original board. The main board is in two pieces with a dovetail joint, and has 3mm holes to accept the inlaid pieces. Tolerances are tested with a monoprice maker select v2, but should be forgiving. Pieces may be snug enough to press fit but I used glue to it would be more durable. The really small pieces can be a tight fit, I used a spare token to lever some of them in.
For the dice, I just printed them in white and used a sharpie to color 2 of the points.
For a full functional game, you will need to print:
1x board left
1x board right
4x dice
7x tokens (white)
7x tokens (black)
35x inlay circle large (white)
35x inlay circle large (black)
35x inlay circle large (black)
5x inlay circle medium (red)
20x inlay petal (red)
20x inlay petal (blue)
45x inlay circle large (blue)
12x inlay circle medium (blue)
50x inlay circle small (blue)
You can print all the pieces of one color together as a raft. My final model was made with a total of 6 prints. I highly recommend printing a few extra of each inlay piece, as they are very easy to lose during assembly
