I'm building a new island for my kitchen. I'm going to use a live edge slab to make an epoxy river top for it. I need to flatten the surface of the slab, so I built this router sled. I mounted my 3-1/2 HP plunge router to she sled. Now I can accurately flatten the slab.
Using the pictures, assembly is pretty self-explanatory.
Here's what I used,
4 4SBR20UU linear bearing blocks and 2 20mm x 1000 mm rails (Amazon)
4 M8x25 socket head screws
12 skateboard bearings
4 M8 nylock nuts
8 M4x20 socket head screws
8 M4 nylock nuts
8 m4 washers
16 M6x210 socket head screws
16 #12x3/4" wood screws
2 1x2x8'
I use a washer on the M8 axle between the two rollers and the mount. I also use the smaller washer on the M4 screw that holds the guide wheel in place.
I just finished this and it's late, but I wanted to get this on here. I'll elaborate later.
