The Lobster Institute, together with one classroom, two laboratories of School of Marine Sciences faculty, and some of the offices and research laboratories of the Animal and Veterinary Sciences are located in Rogers Hall. The building was named in honor of Lore Rogers, a dairy scientist whose research into making butter with pasteurized sweet cream revolutionized the theory and practice of butter making. The first course leading to a B.S. Degree in Dairy Technology in the U.S.A. was taught in this building. #University_of_Maine
