A conventional 4-stroke engine block, crank and pistons. Higher air flow volumeis achieved by doing away with conventional valves and camshafts. In this engine the entire top of the cylinder is opened by the shutter valve allowing unrestricted charging of the combustion chamber. A valve in the cylinder head then swaps inlet and exhaust in time with inlet and exhaust strokes.
