Sometimes I just can't stop changing things. And to keep the original things files section clean I've decided to open this for modifications I might do.
Original thing: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3014572
Remember: This thing is called "mods" - so I don't recommend anything of the stuff in here for first time builders of the original clock.
Number 1:
Thick versions of the base and center frame parts. If you're like me and don't like seeing 3d printed surfaces so much these could be useful. I often tend to print some kind of infill open to see before moving on to solid layers. As this can be tricky with thin parts these have a thicker front to play around with. I've gone the honeycomb way... again... but I like it more than not 100% perfect surfaces through a damaged pei sheet or anything.
Also there's new diffusers added. They are a little bit taller than the original ones which makes them protrude from the front. Apart from giving better diffusion (a bit) this gives it a slight 3d look.
Using the modified thick-frames and the original diffusers will work - but the diffuers will be inset about 1mm and a bit trickier to mount! Using the modB-diffusers with the original frame will also work - but as they protrude it is very tricky to assemble. While assembling them you can't lay down the frame on a table or they'll get pushed in. So this is not recommended for beginners...
