A disposable 6mm and 8mm vacuum resin infusion port. I recently ran out of 6mm pipe, so created a new part to take 8mm pipe as well. Now you have both. I did look at just increasing the part size at the slicer, but this meant increasing the part size by 33% - a pointless use of plastic.
This replaces the reusable silicone ports I had been using. It is designed to spread the vacuum about, has a low profile so you don’t need to make pleats in the bag to accommodate it, and has a stop built in so you can’t push the pipe too far down and into the cloth, losing vacuum distribution. The fit on the pipe is quite tight on purpose, but if it doesn’t work for you, you can always increase the size of the entire part by 1 or 2%.
I use these all the time and they cost about 10p to make, and take about 20 minutes to print. No support is needed.
Take a look at www.furyrebuild.co.uk to see how I’ve used these a lot on my race car.
