I got sick and tired of the location of the power switch on my Qidi Tech 1 printer so I decided to change it up a little. Unfortunately I tend to over do things and ended up with a bit more than I originally intended. My modeling skills are almost non-existant, so if you can come up with a better box/case for this I would love to see it. Most of this post that people may be interested in is the actual device.
To the point. Using an Arduino Uno, a Relay Shield v2.1 from SeeedStudio, and a few other parts I created a device that will turn my printer off with either holding down a button for 2 seconds ( to prevent accidental power toggling) or by using an old universal remote I had lying around.
If you make this thing please let me know how you like it. If you are trying to make this and need any help with the IR codes let me know and I will try to assist you.
