WARNING: I take no responsibility for any damages this could cause. With that said, i am very pleased with the amount of support and how solid everything feels.
From the pictures the light bars are not centered on purpose.
I designed the mounting system for the standard RedSea AI (hydra) mounting arms to add/retro fit 2 Orphek OR3 light bars for extra lighting. The system takes into account the added weight of the OR3s, but I also designed some relief to the back glass, by bolting the brace to the wall.
if you are not close to the wall, i would highly suggest adding some type of support to the brace, or the arms may bend adding unnecessary stress to the back glass, where the default mounts attach.
This system requires some basic aluminum strips that can be found at a big box store like Lowes or Home Depot. I specifically used the following, since i had it laying around:https://www.lowes.com/pd/Steelworks-3-ft-x-0-75-in-Aluminum-Solid/3053641
I decided to go with aluminum, just for piece of mind, but i am sure you could utilize a 3d printed part, just be sure to take into account material and weight over a distance. I also, painted the aluminum since its hanging over saltwater 24/7.
Extras:
The project includes templates for aluminum cuts and holes, be sure to double check for your specific needs.
Steps files for any edits you need to make for your system.
