RDS-1 ("article 501" atomic charge "1-200") - the first Soviet atomic bomb - plutonium implosion. The bomb - 22 kilotons (length 3.7 m, a diameter of 1.5 m, weight 4.6 tons) of the first atomic bomb was given the designation of RDS-1. It is derived from governmental decree, where the atomic bomb was encrypted as a "special jet engine", abbreviated RDS. Designation RDS-1 is widely included in life after testing of the first atomic bomb, and stands in different ways: "Jet en
