Overview
So originally, I just wanted a Pi 3a+ case for my old Hifiberry Amp+, and I had intended to take this design and remix to make it overall narrower to tightly fit the smaller form-factor. However, when testing how everything ran, I noticed the 3a+ gets hotter than my old Pi2, so I opted to throw in a fan.... and also an inset logo/HifiberryOS logo to make the top a bit more exciting.
To help my poor memory, I also added the barrel polarity and recommended voltage, as well as the screw terminal connections: P(ower) +/-, L(eft) +/-, and R(ight) +/-.
Note, there's not a ton of space to wire up the fan, so I opted to solder male jumper wires to GPIO pin 2 and 6, allowing me to easily remove the board without messing with the fan.
The fan is from the Aokin store on the US Amazon site (the 30mm/compatible with RetroFlag NESPI).
Assembly
I used the included screws for the fan - but since the inside is so cramped, I tightened the nut against the shell without the fan in place, then slid the fan over the protruding screws for a friction fit - this seemed to work pretty well.
For the case assembly, I took some M2.5 black nylon screws/nuts from the Adafruit set and cinched everything down tight.
Updates
I've added pictures of the finished product, and a v2 of the top shell - the only changes for V2 are larger barrel polarity/voltage indicators (and they're further inset into the side wall).
Pictures added of the finished product as well!
