Rack and Pinion Hand Cranked Drive
180 degrees of rotation equals 1-3/4 of liner travel. The rack can be elongated to achieve the desired about of travel. Its pretty small, 1-5/8" x 3" lg. I would think that it would be scalable but I have not tried. There is a slot on the end of the gear rack that will hold a M3 nut so you can mount what ever you would like to the end of the rack.
The prints are pretty easy to make, no supports required. All my pars went together the first time with no sanding. After printing all six pieces place the rack and the pinion in the LH housing. Then snap on the RH housing on to the LH housing. Next put the handle into the pinon and snap the swivel onto the handle. If you wish the assembly stay together permanently you can superglue the two housing together and superglue the handle into the pinion, but mine stayed together without superglue.
