A Core-XZ 3D printer inspired by Nicholas Seward's CoreXZ. The design of the QuorXZ uses OpenBuilds' OpenRail, V-Slot, and V-Wheels. When built with OpenBuilds' Build Plate and a standard 200 X 200 aluminum print bed, the print volume is 200 X 186 X 200. When built with the included custom print bed design, the print volume is 200 X 230 X 200.
10-10-15: The design is finished and the prototype has been built. It prints great!!
10-16-15: UPDATE! I've uploaded the complete set of files for the QuorXZ 3D printer. The zip file contains everything: printed parts, laser-cut parts, OpenSCAD source files, AND a fairly-complete Bill-of-Materials.
Update (9-5-2017): I have updated all files, and have created full assembly instructions over at OpenBuilds: http://openbuilds.com/builds/quorxz-a-string-driven-core-xz-printer.5489/ . There is also a complete and checked bill of materials with a "Buy sheet" with links to vendors for all of the parts. (The zip file that was posted here at thingiverse was out of date and has been deleted. The STL file posted here are still current.) If you are thinking of building one of these, check out the OpenBuilds resource.

There is CoreXZ firmware available for Marlin, Smoothie, and RepRap Duet. See http://forums.reprap.org/read.php?2,377858 for more details.
