Original MXL II ultralight trainer from around 1992. This model had a king post and wires to stabilize the wings. The FAA no longer allows two seat trainers under Part 103. This is now considered a sport aircraft requiring a sport pilot license. Also, the newer models have no king post and wires above the wing. Note the box holding up the tail skid. When unmanned, this aircraft would sink in the tail and the nose wheel would be off the ground. Wing span is about 32 feet 9 inches, height 9' 4', length 17' 6', wing area 180 sq. ft., empty weight 338 lbs, fuel capacity 6 gallons. The engine is a rotax 503. Landing distance 75 ft, takeoff distance 160 ft., cruising speed 45-55 mph. #aircraft #pusher_prop #Quicksilver #rotax_engine #ultralight_trainer
