Quick release adapter for small/compact camera compatible with RC2 Manfrotto system by xavan

The proposed adapter allows to use the same quick release system for a DSLR and a compact camera. As the plate of the RC2 QR is quite big and doesn't allow to open the battery door, an adapter and a small plate were designed. Another requirement was, for me, to use the same camera bag keeping the QR plate (not possible with the 200Pl plate).
Key features are:
Low footprint plate.
Easy install/uninstall adapter.
Doesn't block battery door (depending on your camera).
I have designed a specific plate for my Lumix TZ100 and another standard one with a centered hole. You can use the scad files to redesign the plate/adapter according to you own purposes.
The role of the rubber band is only to keep in place the adapter before inserting the plate.

Thinner plate (6 mm instead of 8 mm) and adapter accordingly designed (V2)
