This is a quick clip designed for a 6mm elastic band. It was designed so that the elastic will first come through the back where the flex lock is located and then get threaded through the hole at the end. You should be able to tighten the mask with a little bit of force by pulling the straps hanging out. To loosen you can pull the elastic from the back side toward the clip side.
This was designed using a Ninjaflex band which is somewhat slippery so I'm not sure how it will work with actual elastic bands.
