Added landing gear to protect battery and eventually camera from hard landings. If you strap the batteries to the top of the drone this won't be as much of a problem. The landing gear consists of four 3" long 3/16" bolts (apologies for the imperial units, I wanted to use M5 but this was all I could find). Attached to the base of these bolts is a front spring, back spring and two side springs. They are designed to absorb some shock if the drone lands at an angle, and will prevent too much torque from being applied to the arms. These springs will break easily, but they only take 20 minutes to print, and prevent other more important things form breaking
Added some vents below the motor mounts to prevent overheating. This is very important! Without these vents the motors will quickly break.
Thickened some areas on the body which were breaking to easily.
Listed below are all the parts I used. I'm pretty new to quadcopters, but it seems like most of the mounts used for flight controllers, PDB's, ESC's, motors etc. are pretty standard, so if you want to use different parts they should still work fine.
4x Racerstar Racing Edition 2205 BR2205 2300KV 2-4S Brushless Motor
Racerstar RS20Ax4 20A 4 in 1 Blheli_S Opto ESC 2-4S
F3 Flight Controller Acro 6 DOF
Matek Systems PDB-XT60 W/ BEC 5V & 12V 2oz Copper
FlySky FS-i6 2.4G 6CH AFHDS RC Transmitter With FS-iA6B Receiver
4x 5 inch propellers
31x M3 bolts (most of these cam with the parts listed above)
15x M3 nuts
The arms of this quad were printed in ABS and the body was printed in PLA. Everything was printed with 100% infill. Some time in the future I'll be adding a camera mount.
