Summary
This is a fan duct for 40mm fans to fit to the BMG-V6-Extruder-Carrier-Mod (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3994628) by Chad Wills (thanks a lot for that :) ) and a Trianglelabs Dragon hotend, as i found the solution with 2 x 30mm Qidi Extruder fans way too loud to print over night and only had 40mm fans laying around.
With a Noctua A4x20 fan, the noise level is much reduced and i had no issues with insufficient hotend cooling until now. Any 10mm or 20mm thick 40x40mm fan should fit and still give you the full 270mm width of build space on a Qidi X-Plus, with some mm of safety to the y-carrier.
If you are planning to use a Noctua fan, just make sure, that you attach it to the NA-RC12 low noise adapter, as this will reduce input voltage from 24V to ~12V.
After printing, plan how you want the fan cable to be routed, attach the fan duct to the dragon hotend. Then place everything slightly off center on the printhead-carrier and slide it to the left, so that the groove in the duct fits into the carrier rib. Tighten down the top frame and attach the fan to the duct with the 2 long spare bolts provided in the qidi tool box (if you are using a 20mm thick fan).
Let me know if you find any issues or have requests.
