My remix of a Motor guard for my QAV-R quadcopter frame. In TinkerCad I merged together the guard from Sl33py Dog (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1668742) with mounting holes from meoster (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1416929). I wanted the mounts to be able to withstand a crash and I had a sample of Ninjaflex so I printed the whole guard. Unfortunately using Ninjaflec I was unable to tighten the motor screws without pushing all the way through the flexible material. So I decided to try to make a dual PLA/ Ninjaflex print. Using meshmixer I sliced the model so the bottom 2/3 of the mount would be PLA and the rest would be Ninjaflex. Using ReplicatorG I created gcode for both parts and merged them. To get good prints with the Ninjaflex I need a lot of heat and slow printing. Used 240 degrees for the flexible filament temperature, it oozes, but under this temperature and I can't seem to get good extrusion. For printing speed I used 30mm/s with 60mm/s travel with the PLA profile selected, this was too fast, so I ended up manually slowing the print speed down to 65% using the onscreen menu during printing. Came out better than I thought they would, good adhesion between PLA and Ninjaflex.
