In these battles, it was convincingly proven that shielding the armored hull with additional armor, which was used on previous modifications of this tank, was irrational and could only be considered as a temporary solution. In this model, instead of using hinged armor, the thickness of the frontal top plate of the hull, the frontal plate of the turret and the guun mantlet was increased to 50 mm, and the thickness of the sides of the hull and the sides and rear of the turret was increased to 30 mm.
