This is an easy way to mount a 6 mm momentary pushbutton to the backside of a 3D printed surface with the pushbutton protruding through.
A pair of these brackets, glued to the backside of a surface, with the rectangular holes facing one another and about 7 mm apart provide a fast and easy way to secure a pushbutton with a cable tie. I've used 25 second cyanoacrylate gel to glue them with good results - PLA to PLA, haven't tried any other materials.
Pushbuttons are available with various shaft lengths. Choose the one that works best with the thickness of the surface you're mounting it to.
I recommend a 3.7 mm hole for the shaft to protrude through.
I've printed several pairs of these and they seem to come out pretty well. I print them with the hole face on the bed, using a 0.3 mm nozzle, a 0.15 mm first layer and a 0.075 mm layer height. Print speed should be pretty slow and cooling fan speed high to prevent the part from getting too hot and slumping. Printing a pair at the same time, with the big flat sides facing one another seems to work well and helps with cooling.
