In anticipation of the release of Beat Saber on PSVR, and inspired by this amazing performance with the two sabers connected together Darth Maul style on Oculus Rift, I decided the world urgently needed a way to connect two Playstation Move controllers end to end.
The top and bottom pieces are very slightly different; the bottom piece has small nubs which fit into the screw holes of the Move controllers to help secure them in place.
One of the photos shows a C battery. This can optionally be added in the handle for extra weight. The model works fine without the battery as well.
To fasten the two sides together, use standard camera tripod folding D-ring fasteners.
2 x example bolt - 1/4" D-ring tripod adapter with 17mm shaft
2 x example nut - 1/4" to 3/8" convert screw adapter
I used the folding D-ring bolts as I wanted the two sides to be securely closed during play, while also being easy to open and close without tools. The trade-off was the need for wider openings for the bolt heads.
The nut should be screwed into the underside, as shown in one of the pictures. You can screw the nut in with a butter knife. I recommend holding the bolt in place from the other side while screwing in the nut; this ensures the nut goes in straight.
I was not the first to have this idea of sticking two Move controllers together. Kudos to 3lacksky for getting there first!
For the sake of clarity, I am not the person in the video -- that's just the video which inspired me.
