Last crawled date: 4 years, 2 months ago
FORMAL release of my previous Thing: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2794755
NOTE 8/25/2018
I've updated the heatbed top and heatbed chain link to include an angle that should help the y-chain clear the zipties & back of the frame.
NOTE 7/20/2018
Finally, after many promises, I've included an Einsy case that can be used with a Rpi Zero mounted to the Einsy headers (einsy-mount-cable-chain_rpi0_addon). This was based 100% on fritte2000's beautiful design here:https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2886648 (love the screwless approach). You will have to print the cover from fritte2000's page.
Disclaimer #1: I literally just finished this design and haven't been able to test it yet. I'm 86% confident it'll work, but no promises. I don't have plans to use an RPi0 so any test prints with feedback would be much appreciated.
Dislcaimer #2: With the RPi0 Einsy case, you have to use the newly updated z-chain and applicable components:
z-axis_chain-clip_A-01
z-axis-link_A-01
z-chain-motor mount_A
Disclaimer #3: If you want to use the newly updated z-chain links (from disclaimer above) without the RPi0 case, I also updated the original Einsy case to be compatible with the new chain design.
Disclaimer #4: Noticed I didn't update with a pass/fail on the updated flat-bottomed v-groove version of the extruder back. It passed. Old comment deleted.
This is a cable chain add-on to replace the spiral wraps or cable braids on your Prusa i3 MK3. No modifications needed other than trimming the filament inside the cable bundles.
Quick note on the screenshots, I only included the "main" chain due to SolidWorks repeatedly crashing with all 3 axis chains involved. Guess I need to upgrade my home workstation :(
Inspired and remixed from the following designs:
Prusa i3 MK2S No Mod Cable Chain Kit - All Axis by SoundDoc
Prusa i3 MK3 X carriage back plate with belt access by jltx
Cable chain upgrade for Prusa MK3 by sodamaexchen
Prusa i3 MK3 SolidWorks Assembly (with STEP) by jzkmath
