Project Gemini was NASA's second human spaceflight program. Conducted between projects Mercury and Apollo, Gemini started in 1961 and concluded in 1966. Built by the McDonnel Aircraft Company, the Gemini spacecraft was 18 feet 5 inches (5.61 m) long and 10 feet (3.0 m) wide, with a launch weight varying from 7,100 to 8,350 pounds. All Gemini flights were launched from Launch Complex 19 (LC-19) at Cape Kennedy Air Force Station in Florida using the Gemini–Titan II rocket, a modified Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). This model represents the Gemini-Titan II launch vehicle modified Titan II rocket with Gemini Capsule attached as it launches into orbit.
