I was testing different headphone amplifier boards that I bought online and needed power/mounting. This case is actually version 2. It isn't made to fit any particular board - I just hot glue them to the bottom.
The holes on the end are to run your in/out cords (cheaper for me than panel mount jacks). This case holds 4 AAA's and a power switch with room for a circuit board.
You'll need AAA terminals to make this work. I also used threaded brass inserts (M2) for the doors with a socket cap screw, but its not required.
