I have seen a couple of other peoples implementation of adding a model of their printer to Simplify3D software. I liked the idea so I tried it and here are my build plate models.
MacOS Prep:
• Download the STL on this page
• Open a Mac Finder window and select "View > Show View Options" from the menu
• Click the "Show Library Folder" checkbox
• Go to /Users//Library/Application Support/Simplify3d/S3d-Software/
• Place a copy of the STL there
To install the STL model in Simplify3d:
• In Simplify3D, select "Simplify3D > Preferences... > Machine" and "Add" the STL in the "Printer Models" section
• Click "OK"
...and there you have it, a PrintrBot Simple Metal build plate model in Simplify3D. The print head is located at the 0,0,0 PrintrBot Simple Metal location for a 150x150x150mm print area.
I have included three (3) different versions as well as the STEP files so they can be modified.
If you have a PC or run into trouble, this page has all the information you need in the comments to get this working: https://forum.simplify3d.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2356&p=12342#p12342
