Enables the Printrbot Simple to use the full width of the bed, extending the width from 100mm to 140mm (+40%).
All holes should be drilled and tapped with a #6-32 tap set. Use 3/4" x 1/2" (1/16" thick) angle aluminum for the front brace, and 3/4" x 1/16" thick aluminum for the rear brace. I used two springs (one inside of the other) for the drive line tensioner.
New cord will be needed for the drive line (I recommend Spectra over Kevlar, as the Kevlar line will frey with use.)
2x 330mm x 8mm smooth rod
5x #6-32 x 3/4" screws (rod clamps and spring anchor)
4x #6-32 x 1/2" screws (rear aluminum bar mounting)
3x #6-32 x 3/8" screws (front 'L' aluminum mounting and drive cord anchor)
12x #6 washers
When printing these parts on the Printrbot Simple, you will need to rotate them 45 degrees to fit in the existing print area.
On the Printerbot Simple, the default bed sizes are x100 y100 z115. Before updating your printer, read the current settings using the M501 command. Then execute the following (to update X to 140 mm):
M211 X140 Y100 Z115
M500
These lines set and write the new bed size to the controller. Confirm the new settings by typing M501.
