This PrintABlok mech build has been styled after the VF-1 Valkyrie.
I have broken out the body section list of parts below, as I assume a lot of people will want to use the ball joint body without the VF-1 parts :)
Bloks you will need to build the body are:
1 Torso Blok Tall ( T or Angled, your choice )
10 Short Ball End Joints
10 Long Ball Sockets
2 Standard 1x1 PrintABloks (I optionally include 2 pattern blocks in this set)
1 Long Connector (needed for Torso blok and 2 short ball connection)
lots of small connectors :)
Options for this build are:
1 Chest Armour Plate
4 Medium Armour Plates
3 Rectangle Armour Plate or more
2 or more Small Armour Plates (optional, as many as you like to fill out arms legs shoulders etc)
2 Mech Claw Hands
2 Valkyrie Feet
1 Valkyrie Gun Set ( has 5mm post so can be used with transformers toys also!)
2 Booster Pack Sets
2 Angled Vent Bloks
Head of your choice:
VF-1A Head
VF-1J Head V1 (build plate support only)
VF-1J Head V2 build plate support only) - remade this head as I really wasn't happy with version 1
VF-1S Head (very minimal build plate support only)
(I will be working on the other VF-1 versions)
Additional weapons, accessories, and two other Torso shorter sizes can be found in my PrintABlok Mech Accessorieshttps://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4183565
You can also find 2 other size ball joints in my PrintABlok Ball Jointhttps://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4230524
Try doing layer-based color changes for the armour for some variations!
Note on using this as an action figure:
While cymon's printablocks are great for interchanging parts, I've found that if you plan on playing with this more than just a little bit, you might want to think about at least gluing the torso blocks together. The blocks that connect the joints / arms / legs to the torso can come loose a bit too easily for my taste. So maybe glue the ball joint connections to the main torso. Also, try and use armour pieces with double connectors to hold the thigh and forearm blocks together for added support.
I hope you have fun with this setup, and I hope to see some great kit-bashing going on! I can really see the potential in creating mech / body shapes from these printablok ball joints and connectors, and covering them with all sorts of cool parts for static displays and models. Please post your makes!
