The PRINTÅ cube is a simple Core-XY 3D printer, which is sufficient for the daily prints. It is a closed cube and need no additional space around it. The size of the printer was chosen, to make it fit perfectly in a Kallax shelf. This makes it livingroom friendly and “wife-compatible”. The filament and the cable harness are guided in a 90° angle to the Extruder. Therefore, no additional space above the printer is needed. The printer is using plastic linear bearings for the x- and y-axis. This makes it more silent. The x-axis is using 10mm aluminium rods, which are recommended for the plastic bearings and it saves some weight for the extruder gantry.

Software / Firmware Configuration
The printer is running Marlin v2 firmware. The BTT SKR 1.4 board has an extra port for an ESP-01 module. I am using an ESP-12 module instead with ESP3D firmware. You can also use ESP-Link as a firmware for the ESP module, especially when using ESP-01. The ESP module is connected via Serial-over-Wifi to a Raspberry Pi2 with Octoprint. The RPi works as an access point for the printers ESP module and creates virtual serial port with socat when the printer connects to the Wifi. Therefore, the printer can run standalone with the power cable only.
