Power Supply Case for Cyclone
Recently I downloaded a slicer from Prusa PrusaSlicer for a look and at first I underestimated its capabilities. As it turned out, it contains many interesting and more convenient (in my opinion) user interface functions than similar implementations of other slicers. Of course, the main one I use so far is Cura, and nevertheless I am increasingly discovering interesting and, most importantly, easily implemented printing methods.In this model, I combined the world-old technology for assembling rectangular structures, in particular when working with a milling router and acrylic. The essence of the method consists in cutting a sheet of acrylic by engraving with a milling cutter with an angle of 90 degrees, not reaching the protective film, which serves as a useful assistant when gluing, with this design it turns out to be perfectly flat. And if you glue the aquarium, then the seams are spilled with dichloroethane so that they are simply not visible, in general they are monolithic.A cutter is not needed for a printer :) he prints, of course, whatever he wants. And there are a few more buns for 3D DIY in this assembly technology: ease of assembly; reducing print time; increasing the strength of the walls (due to horizontal layering) and you can also make different filling in one pass. In this example, I used both a single model and with different fillings and a composite one. Almost every slicer can do this, but in the same Cura this function is not conveniently implemented (again in my opinion), in the slicer indicated at the beginning it is more and more obvious, however.

But this post refers to the continuation of work on the Cyclone, which was assembled at the beginning of summer, but due to overloaded logistics, some components were delivered for a long time, then I did not have time to test them - and they burned out, then there was no time :) just the other day all the stars came together and the project is finished ... The model is ready, the optimal components are selected and indicated, and besides, I am really pleased with the result, you can watch the video for yourself what this tiny little motor with a diameter of 5 cm is capable of,.. lifts up to a kilogram of weight ... and this is not the limit !!! I use it at its third opportunity ... In short, you can see everything in the video.And a few words about power supplies ... In the first version, I installed a model of a 24V 4A power supply that I have been using for a long time, it has excellent overload protection, low price, small dimensions and availability. But a small motor consumes 2.2 A while the starting currents are large, while using in this tandem is not entirely comfortable, since when turned on at full power, the motor does not start and the power source goes into protection. According to my observations, this phenomenon happens once in ten. Apparently the rotor stops in a position where it has, so to speak, a half-dead magnetic field (I think so, maybe I’m wrong) ... But in principle it works ... But sometimes you have to start by turning the rotor, and this is inconvenient, of course, .. more that the same power supply is also inexpensive and available at 9A 24V. Therefore, I made two versions of the case, the first of which is in the archive.Attention update!
When I designed the case for the power supply, I relied on the dimensions indicated on the site. But in fact, these measurements were not accurate. Therefore, I have prepared new files for the 24V 9A power supply.Parts links below:
