This is a very basic meter case inspired by a similar design by Joe Cotty for the A8.
Personally I perfer this DC meter:bayite DC 6.5-100V 0-20A LCD Display Digital Ammeter Voltmeter Multimeter Current Voltage Power Energy Battery Monitor Amperage Meter Gauge with Built-in Shunt
It monitors the DC voltage/current and power you are drawing from the power supply.
Alternatly you could get the AC version:bayite AC 80-260V 100A BAYITE-PZEM-061 LCD Display Digital Current Voltage Power Energy Multimeter Ammeter Voltmeter with Current Transformer CT
This meter monitors the supply side to the power supply. IE total system power ETC.
FYI: A stock A6/A8 peak current is under 13 amps ~ 140W @ 12VDC.
No support required when printed face down.
On request, I have added the wiring schematic for the meter I used. Be sure and use wiring large enough to handle a full load of your printer. Most likely 12 - 14 gauge. The schematic for the AC version is in the Amazon listing.
Youll proably need some wire. This is a good choice:BNTECHGO 14 Gauge Silicone Wire 6 feet [3 ft Black And 3 ft Red] Soft and Flexible 14 AWG Silicone Wire 400 Strands of copper wire Super low electrical resistance for a highly efficient connection
Or if you prefer overkill:BNTECHGO 12 Gauge Silicone Wire 6 feet [3 ft Black And 3 ft Red] High Temperature Resistant Soft and Flexible 12 AWG Silicone Wire 680 Strands of copper wire
If you like my designs why not tip me a dollar or two. Your support will allow me to spend more time on these designs and their variations. Thanks!
