Last crawled date: 5 years, 3 months ago
Main enclosure is present in the files, but doesn't show up in the preview for some reason (>1mb issue?)
This is a USB powered portable speaker I knocked out for use with my tablet. The F3 is around 200hz and usable bass can be extended a fair bit lower with some EQ at the cost of max volume.
Priorities of this design:
Make something to play with the Tectonic TEBM36S12-4A Balanced-Mode Radiator drivers
Small enough to fit in my tablet sling bag and fit on my print bed
Big enough to play music at moderate volumes with reasonable frequency coverage
Get power from my USB powerbank as I don't want another thing to keep track of battery levels on
Parts Used:
Qty 2: Tectonic TEBM36S12-4/A BMR drivers (parts-express.com)
Qty 1: Drok PAM8406 Audio Amplifier Board (Amazon ASIN B077MKQJW2)
Qty 1: Micro USB panel mount (parts bin)
Qty 1: 3.5mm headphone jack panel mount (parts bin)
Qty 12: M3x6mm button head screws
Qty 8: M3x8mm button head screws
Qty 15: cotton balls or some poly-fill
Assembly notes:
I had take a Dremel to the USB panel jack to get everything to fit properly. I put some lightly fluffed up cotton balls in the speaker enclosure to reduce reflections and increase the effective enclosure volume slightly. I also used a little bit of clear gel school glue on the speaker mount faces and all around the back plate seal to prevent air leakage.
